Downloading Orders

You can download certain types of orders from the Order Details page.

  1. Select Orders. The Orders panel opens.

  2. Locate the order you want to download.

  3. In the Actions column, select Download. The Order Details page opens to the Downloads tab.

    When you order an image via Ingest to Streaming, you will see a Load button in the Actions column, instead of the Download button that displays for all other images. Select Load to open the image in the online catalog.

  4. Do one of the following, depending on how you want to download the order.

    • Select Download > Download. Your order downloads as a ZIP file.

      The Download button indicates the size of the file download. You can download files smaller than 50GB. Larger files must be downloaded using an S3 Bucket or FTP location. See Send the File(s) to an Additional Delivery Location.

      The file size displays when the order is ready to download.

      You cannot download an order until it has finished processing and the order is ready for delivery. Orders that are still being zipped prior to delivery display an Awaiting Delivery status in the Orders panel.

      If an order is still processing, you will see a message that it is not available to download.

    High-speed download uses the IBM Aspera Connect extension to improve download time. The high-speed download option is available for any order in the Orders panel.

    1. Select Download > High Speed Download.

      Before continuing, ensure the following:

      • You have permission to install extensions for your browser. If not, contact your organization's IT help desk for approval to install and enable the free and open Aspera Connect extension.

      • Your browser pop-up blocker is disabled.

      • The following ports are open:

        • TCP Outbound 33000 and 33001

        • UDP Outbound on 33001

        • UDP Inbound on 33001 – 33999

    2. If you have not already installed the Aspera Connect plugin for your browser, you will be prompted to install it.

    3. After installing the extension, close your browser.

    4. Log back in to MGP Pro and order the desired product from the Orders Manager using the High-Speed Download option.

      • Your browser will prompt you to confirm using the Aspera Connect extension to download the order.

      • Identify the folder to save the product from the Orders Manager, then select Save.

      • The extension initiates the download. Monitor the download's progress.

    If a download is larger than 50GB, the Orders Manager recommends that you use other download options. However, you can still use the high-speed download option if desired.

    You cannot download an order until it has finished processing and the order is ready for delivery. Orders that are still being zipped prior to delivery display an Awaiting Delivery status in the Orders panel.

    If an order is still processing, you will see a message that it is not available to download.

    • Select Send, then select the type of file transfer you want to use for the download. The corresponding dialog opens.

      You can use these options to add additional delivery locations to existing orders. There is no limit on the number of additional delivery locations that can apply to a single order.

      You cannot remove existing delivery locations. Previous delivery locations are not displayed, but you can save locations for future use.

      1. (Optional) If you want to use a previously saved location for the order, select it from the Saved Locations drop-down.

      2. Select your protocol, then enter your credentials, host, port, and directory.

      3. To verify the connection, select Test Connection.

        A successful connection test is required to save the location and to download the image.

      4. (Optional) To save the location to use again later, select Save as Location. The location is added to the Saved Locations drop-down.

      5. Select Send.

      1. (Optional) If you want to use a previously saved location for the order, select it from the Saved Locations drop-down.

      2. Enter your S3 bucket, folder, region, IAM access key, secret access key, and optional session token.

        • Use the Session Token field if you have a temporary STS token.

        • For regular access keys, leave the Session Token field blank.

        Your S3 bucket must be in the AWS commercial cloud.

      3. To verify the connection, select Test Connection.

        A successful connection test is required to save the location and to download the image.

      4. (Optional) To save the location to use again later, select Save as Location. The location is added to the Saved Locations drop-down.

      5. Select Send.

      1. (Optional) If you want to use a previously saved location for the order, select it from the Saved Locations drop-down.

      2. Enter your service key, bucket, and folder.

        To select a service key from a location on your computer, select the paperclip .

      3. To verify the connection, select Test Connection.

        A successful connection test is required to save the location and to download the image.

      4. (Optional) To save the location to use again later, select Save as Location. The location is added to the Saved Locations drop-down.

      5. Select Send.

      2. Enter your connection string, bucket, and folder.

      3. To verify the connection, select Test Connection.

        A successful connection test is required to save the location and to download the image.

      4. (Optional) To save the location to use again later, select Save as Location. The location is added to the Saved Locations drop-down.

      5. Select Send.

More About Downloading Orders

  • When your order is complete, you will receive an email from the order service with a link back to MGP Pro. You will notice your order ID in the URL parameters (e.g., “https://pro.maxar.com/?order_id=<xxx>“).

    • Adding any order ID to the MGP Pro URL opens the Downloads tab for that order.

    • If you add an order ID that does not match one of your orders, the "order_id" parameter is ignored.

    • You will also receive status emails when your order is received, when it is complete, and if it fails.

  • Some orders cannot be downloaded. For example, completed orders that were placed using the "ingest to streaming" delivery option cannot be downloaded, as they are instead ingested to the online imagery catalog in the Imagery panel.
