Viewing Vivid Mosaic Basemaps

You can view Vivid Mosaic basemaps in Hub. When Vivid Mosaic basemaps are turned on, they display on top of the standard basemap and under any imagery that you have selected in the Imagery panel.

Toggling Vivid Mosaic Basemaps

Vivid Mosaic basemaps are off by default. If you want to turn on Vivid Mosaic basemaps, do the following.

  1. Expand the left-side navigation panel.

  2. Select the Mosaics visibility icon.

If Vivid Mosaic basemaps are hidden, selecting a Vivid Mosaics basemap automatically displays it in the viewport. Likewise, clearing your Vivid Mosaics selection automatically hides the basemap.

Vivid Mosaics - 30 cm HD is the default Vivid product.

When you select a different Vivid Mosaics product, Hub will default to that product the next time you open the Mosaics panel.

Selecting a Vivid Mosaics Basemap

When you turn on Vivid Mosaics, you will see the Vivid Mosaics - 30 cm HD product by default. You can select a different product in the Mosaics panel.

  1. Select Mosaics. The Vivid Mosaics panel opens.

  2. Select the Vivid Mosaics basemap you want to use. The viewport refreshes to apply the new Vivid Mosaics basemap.

    If Vivid Mosaic basemaps are hidden, selecting a Vivid Mosaics basemap automatically displays it in the viewport. Likewise, clearing your Vivid Mosaics selection automatically hides the basemap.

    To see more information about any Vivid Mosaics basemap, select information, note, tip.

  3. (Optional) Adjust the selected basemap's opacity using the Opacity slider.

  4. To close the Vivid Mosaics panel, select Mosaics again.

Viewing Vivid Mosaic Cutlines

Turn on Vivid Mosaic cutlines to view an overlay of the mosaic imagery segments that make up the Vivid Mosaics basemap.

  1. Select a Vivid Mosaics basemap.

  2. Zoom to level 8 or higher.

  3. To turn on cutlines, select the cutlines icon .

  4. (Optional) To view Vivid Mosaics metadata, select a cutline area. A popup displays the block name, acquisition time (UTC), sensor, and archive catalog ID.

Imagery strips display at zoom level 11. Imagery displays on top of the Vivid Mosaics basemap.

If you want to see Vivid Mosaic cutlines at zoom level 11 or higher, be sure to turn imagery off item off/not visible/hidden. If imagery is turned on item on/visible, it will hide the cutlines.

More About Viewing Vivid Mosaic products

If you have reached your credit limit, and you try to view a Vivid Mosaics basemap:

  • An error alerts you that you are at your contract usage limit. Contact your account administrator.

  • Vivid Mosaic products are unavailable.
