Exporting Projects and Comments

To view your project imagery in a third-party geospatial application, or if to share comment threads with other colleagues, export the project or its comments.

Exporting Projects or Comments to a Shapefile

To view a project or its comments in a third-party geospatial application, export it to a shapefile. You can export one project or comment shapefile at a time.

  1. Select Projects. The Projects panel opens.

  2. Select the Project Menu menu, three vertical dots, then select Export Project to Shapefile or Export Comments to Shapefile.

    You can select the Project Menu menu, three vertical dots from the main Project panel or from the expanded Projects interface. See Overview: Projects.

    The project or comments download as a zipped shapefile. The downloaded file uses the same filename as the original project, along with a date stamp (i.e., [project name]_M_D_YYYY.zip; [project name]_Comments_M_D_YYYY.zip).

Exporting Comments to PDF

You can also export comments to a PDF. This allows you to share them with colleagues who may not have convenient access to view a shapefile. PDFs are also easily editable or reviewable by other users.

  1. Select Projects. The Projects panel opens.

  2. Select the Project Menu menu, three vertical dots, then select Export Comments to PDF.

    The comments download as a PDF. The downloaded file uses the same filename as the original project, along with a date stamp (i.e., [project name]_Comments_M_D_YYYY.pdf).
